This chart shows information about the State/UT-wise number of Gram Panchayats (GPs) / Traditional Local Bodies (TLBs) across the country as of March 10, 2025. There are a total of 2,68,603 Gram Panchayats (GPs) / Traditional Local Bodies (TLBs) across India. The top 10 States/Union Territories with the highest number of GPs/TLBs are Uttar Pradesh (57691), Maharashtra (27954), Madhya Pradesh (23011), Gujarat (14674), Andhra Pradesh (13327), Punjab (13235), Telangana (12848), Tamil Nadu (12525), Chhattisgarh (11623), Rajasthan (11193).
