The year-wise Power Supply Position in the country from 2019-20 to 2024-25 (up to December 2024) highlights fluctuations in energy demand and supply. The highest energy requirement recorded was 16,26,132 million units, with a corresponding supply of 16,22,020 million units in 2023-24. In contrast, the lowest energy demand was 12,75,534 million units, with an energy supply of 12,70,663 million units in 2020-21. These figures reflect trends in power consumption and generation capacity over the years.
