The National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) is a welfare Programme being administered by the Ministry of Rural Development. This Programme is being implemented in rural areas as well as urban areas. The National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) represents a significant step towards the fulfilment of the Directive Principles of State Policy enshrined in the Constitution of India which enjoin upon the State to undertake within its means a number of welfare measures.

State-wise Total Beneficiaries:-
This chart illustrate the information about the total number of beneficiaries was 2, 26, 68,857 under Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) during 2024-25 (as on 30 June 2024). The highest number of beneficiaries was 30, 75,708 in Uttar Pradesh. The lowest number of beneficiaries was 9 in Andaman and Nicobar.
