State/UT-wise Pregnant Women Treated for Severe Anaemia during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to pregnant women (PW) treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The number of PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Uttar Pradesh was 123,133 during 2019-20, out of which 6,381 (5.18%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in urban areas and 116,752 (94.82%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 79,243 PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Maharashtra during 2019-20. Out of these 79,243 PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7); 18,601 (23.47%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in urban areas and 60,642 (76.53%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in rural areas of Maharashtra during 2019-20. The number of PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Gujarat was 69,602 during 2019-20, out of which 6,686 (9.61%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in urban areas and 62,916 (90.39%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in rural areas of Gujarat.

During 2019-20, there were 61,201 and 48,206 PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively. Out of these 61,201 PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Madhya Pradesh, 16,283 (26.61%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in urban areas and 44,918 (73.39%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in rural areas; and out of these 48,206 PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in Rajasthan, 19,350 (40.14%) and 28,856 (59.86%) PW treated for severe anaemia (Hb<7) in urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.
