State/UT-wise Home Deliveries attended by Non Skill Birth Attendant during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to home deliveries attended by Non-SBA (Skill Birth Attendant) [Trained Birth Attendant (TBA) /Relatives etc.] in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

The number of home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Uttar Pradesh was 421,265 during 2019-20, out of which 3,945 (0.94%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in urban areas and 417,320 (99.06%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 271,703 home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Bihar during 2019-20. Out of these 271,703 home deliveries attended by Non-SBA; 17,077 (6.29%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in urban areas and 254,626 (93.71%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in rural areas of Bihar during 2019-20. The number of home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Madhya Pradesh was 53,514 during 2019-20, out of which 384 (0.72%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in urban areas and 53,130 (99.28%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh.

During 2019-20, there were 36,852 and 35,119 home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Assam and Meghalaya respectively. Out of these 36,852 home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Assam, 176 (0.48%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in urban areas and 36,676 (99.52%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in rural areas; and out of these 35,119 home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in Meghalaya, 112 (0.32%) and 35,007 (99.68%) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.

Lakshadweep is only UT among all the States/UTs in India, which has been observed with 0 (zero) home deliveries attended by Non-SBA in 2019-20.
