Value of Foodgrains Damaged in Godowns of FCI during 2019-20

During 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), total value of foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI was Rs. 13.44 lakhs in India. The top 3 regions with respect to value of foodgrains which got damaged in godowns of FCI during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019) were Odisha, Punjab and NEF.

The amount of Rs. 4.75 lakhs foodgrains was damaged in godowns of FCI in Odisha during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), which accounted 35.34% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India. There was damage of Rs. 4.22 lakhs foodgrains in godowns of FCI in Punjab during during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019). It accounted 31.4% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India during the same period. The foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in NEF was Rs. 2.92 lakhs during 2019-20 (as on 01.07.2019), which accounted 21.73% of the total foodgrains damaged in godowns of FCI in India.
