Production of Crude Oil in India from 2015-16 to 2019-20

India has witnessed a downward trend in production of crude oil from 2015-16 to 2019-20. The production of crude oil was 36.94 Million Metric Tons (MMT) in India in 2015-16. It has decreased by -2.52% to 36.01 MMT during 2016-17 above 2015-16. In absolute term it was down by -0.93 MMT in 2016-17 against 2015-16. We have observed annual de-growth of -92 basis points in crude oil production in India during 2017-18 against 2016-17. The crude oil production in India was 34.2 MMT during 2018-19, down by -4.15% versus 35.68 MMT during 2017-18. In absolute term it was down by -1.48 MMT in 2018-19 above 2017-18. During 2019-20 (April-January), the production of crude oil was 27.07 MMT in India.

The maximum annual decrease of -4.15% has been seen in 2018-19 in production of crude oil during the period under consideration.
