State/UT-wise Male Live Births in India during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to male live births in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The number of male live births was 2,112,601 in Uttar Pradesh during 2019-20, out of which 273,607 (12.95%) births were in urban areas and 1,838,994 (87.05%) births were in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 1,103,022 male live births in Bihar during 2019-20. Out of these 1,103,022 male live births; 71,689 (6.5%) births were in urban areas and 1,031,333 (93.5%) births were in rural areas of Bihar during 2019-20. The number of male live births was 924,996 in Maharashtra during 2019-20, out of which 144,782 (15.65%) births were in urban areas and 780,214 (84.35%) births were in rural areas of Maharashtra.

During 2019-20, there were 724,808 and 699,717 male live births in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively. Out of these 724,808 male live births in Madhya Pradesh, 159,523 (22.01%) and 565,285 (77.99%) births were in urban and rural areas respectively; and out of these 699,717 male live births in Rajasthan, 270,112 (38.6%) and 429,605 (61.4%) births were in urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.
