Gross Import of Petroleum Products by India from 2012-13 to 2018-19

We have observed compound annual growth rate of 12.61% in gross import of petroleum products by India during the period from 2012-13 to 2018-19.

The gross import of petroleum products was 16,354 thousand metric tonnes (TMT) by India in 2012-13. It has increased by 2.1% to 16,697 TMT during 2013-14 over 2012-13. In value term it was Rs. 68,852 crore in 2012-13 and Rs. 75,896 crore in 2013-14. Annual decline of -2.28% has been seen in gross import of petroleum products by India during 2017-18 from 36,287 TMT during 2016-17. Gross import of petroleum products by India was 33,348 TMT in 2018-19, down by -5.96% against 35,461 TMT during 2017-18. The value of gross petroleum products imported was Rs. 71,566, 88,374 and 113,665 crore from 2016-17 to 2018-19 respectively.

The maximum of 36,287 TMT found in 2016-17 and minimum of 16,354 TMT seen in 2012-13 in gross petroleum products imported by India during the period under consideration.
