Urea Production by Private Sector in India from 2015-16 to 2019-20

The production of urea by private sector was 104.6 lakh metric tonne (LMT) in India during 2015-16, which was 42.74% of total 244.75 LMT urea produced. It has decreased by -0.77% to 103.79 LMT during 2016-17 above 2015-16. We have seen annual growth of 2.82% in production of urea by private sector during 2017-18 over 2016-17.

Production of urea by private sector was 100.8 LMT in India during 2018-19, down by -5.55% against 106.72 LMT during 2017-18. The production of urea by private sector was 44.42% and 42% of the total urea produced in India during 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively. During 2019-20 (up to Oct. 2019), urea produced by private sector was 61.48 LMT in India.
