Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Sub Centres with Availability of Separate Toilet for Male & Female Patients in Rural Areas as on 31st March 2019

As on 31st March 2019, there were 43,094 (27.38%) Sub Centres (SCs) with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas in India, out of total functioning of 157,411 SCs. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas as on 31/03/2019 were Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar, Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab and Gujarat.

The number of SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh was 5,876 as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 13.64% of the total SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas in India. There were 4,723 SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas of Maharashtra as on 31.03.2019. It accounted 10.96% of the total SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas in India as on the same period. The number of SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas of Rajasthan was 3,997 as on 31/03/2019, which accounted 9.28% of the total SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas in India.

There were 3,742 and 2,939 SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas of Bihar and Karnataka respectively as on 31/03/2019. Bihar accounted for 8.68% and Karnataka accounted for 6.82% of the total SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas in India as on 31.03.2019.

As on 31st March 2019, the number of SCs with availability of separate toilet for male & female patients in rural areas of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab and Gujarat was 2,918, 2,717, 2,588, 2,291 and 1,844 respectively.
