There were 212,486 works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in India during 2018-19, down by -45.75% against 391,651 during 2017-18. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS during 2018-19 were Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The number of works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS was 42,886 in Andhra Pradesh during 2017-18. It has increased by 13.1% to 48,503 during 2018-19 above 2017-18. There were 35,724 works completed in West Bengal on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS during 2017-18. It has declined by -29.71% to 25,110 during 2018-19 over 2017-18. We have seen annual decline of -12.48% in works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS in Chhattisgarh to 16,585 during 2018-19 from 18,949 during 2017-18. Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh accounted for 22.83%, 11.82% and 7.81% respectively of the total works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS in India during 2018-19.
There were 14,200 and 13,939 works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh respectively during 2018-19. Maharashtra accounted for 6.68% and Uttar Pradesh accounted for 6.56% of the total works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS in India during the same period.
During 2018-19, the number of works completed on water conservation & water harvesting under MGNREGS was 13294, 12586, 10538, 9816 and 9671 in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala and Tamil Nadu respectively.
