Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Households Electrified as per Saubhagya Portal during 11.10.2017 to 31.03.2019

Government of India launched Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya in October, 2017 with the objective to achieve universal household electrification by providing electricity connections to all willing un-electrified households in rural and all poor households in urban areas across the country by March, 2019.

As per Saubhagya portal, 26,284,350 households were electrified in India during 11th October 2017 to 31st March 2019. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to households electrified as per Saubhagya portal during 11.10.2017 to 31.03.2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal.

The number of households electrified in Uttar Pradesh was 7,980,568 as per Saubhagya portal during 11th October 2017 to 31st March 2019, which accounted 30.36% of the total households electrified in India. There were 3,259,041 households electrified in Bihar as per Saubhagya portal during 11.10.2017 to 31.03.2019. It accounted 12.4% of the total households electrified in India during the same period. The number of households electrified in Odisha was 2,452,444 as per Saubhagya portal during 11/10/2017 to 31/03/2019, which accounted 9.33% of the total households electrified in India.

During 11th October 2017 to 31st March 2019, 1,984,264 and 1,862,736 households were electrified in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively as per Saubhagya portal. Madhya Pradesh accounted for 7.55% and Rajasthan accounted for 7.09% of the total households electrified in India during 11/10/2017 to 31/03/2019.

As per Saubhagya portal, the number of households electrified in Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal was 1,745,149, 1,530,708, 1,517,922, 749,397 and 732,290 respectively during 11th October 2017 to 31st March 2019.
