Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Beneficiaries under Talent Search & Development Vertical of Khelo India Scheme during 2019-20

The khelo India programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation. The Top 10 States/UTs with respect to beneficiaries selected under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme during 2019-20 were Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Manipur.

The number of beneficiaries under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme was 360 from Haryana during 2019-20, up by 23.29% against 292 during 2018-19. There were 251 beneficiaries from Maharashtra under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme in 2018-19. It has increased by 20.72% to 303 beneficiaries during 2019-20 above 2018-19. Annual growth of 17.05% has been observed in beneficiaries under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme from Delhi to 206 during 2019-20 from 176 during 2018-19.

There were 173 and 147 beneficiaries from Punjab and Uttar Pradesh respectively under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme during 2019-20. We have seen annual growth of 20.14% for Punjab and 23.53% for Uttar Pradesh in beneficiaries under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme during 2019-20 over 2018-19.

During 2019-20, the number of beneficiaries under talent search & development vertical of khelo India scheme was 134, 130, 103, 93 and 90 from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Manipur respectively.
