The Ministry of Women & Child Development has implemented Umbrella Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme for attending the need of the children in India, especially to improve their nutritional and childhood development. Under the Umbrella ICDS, various schemes namely (i) Anganwadi Services, (ii) Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna, (iii) Scheme for Adolescent Girls, and (iv) POSHAN Abhiyaan are implemented specifically dealing with the issue of malnutrition.
The total fund released under ICDS training programme was Rs. 3,419.572 lakhs in India during 2018-19, down by -16.76% against Rs. 4,108.231 lakhs during 2017-18. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to fund released under ICDS training programme during 2018-19 were Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
There was a release of Rs. 566.55 lakhs for Madhya Pradesh under ICDS training programme during 2017-18 & 2018-19 each. The fund released under ICDS training programme for West Bengal was Rs. 418.79 lakhs during 2018-19, down by -3.37% versus 433.3747 lakhs during 2017-18. We have seen annual decline of -17.37% in release of fund under ICDS training programme for Bihar from Rs. 503.684 lakhs during 2017-18 to Rs. 416.17 lakhs during 2018-19. Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar accounted for 16.57%, 12.25% and 12.17% respectively of the total fund released under ICDS training programme in India during 2018-19.
The amount of fund released under ICDS training programme for Rajasthan and Telangana was Rs. 306.22 lakhs and Rs. 214.516 lakhs respectively during 2018-19. Rajasthan accounted for 8.95% and Telangana accounted for 6.27% of the total fund released under ICDS training programme in India during 2018-19.
There was release of Rs. 154.49, 142.69, 141.32, 128.15 and 125.69 lakhs for Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam respectively under ICDS training programme during 2018-19. These aforesaid top 10 States/UTs accounted for 76.46% of the total fund released under ICDS training programme in India as a whole during 2018-19.

Funds for year 2018-19 were released in March, 2019 for which Utilization Certificates have not been received from the States/UTs.
