District-wise Persondays Generated under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Jammu & Kashmir during 2017-18

The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) provides at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment in every financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. During 2017-18, totally 37522929 persondays generated in Jammu & Kashmir under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). The top 5 districts of Jammu & Kashmir with respect to persondays generated under MGNREGS during 2017-18 were Anantnag, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajauri and Kupwara.

The number of persondays generated in Anantnag was 4180885 under MGNREGS during 2017-18, which accounted 11.14% of the total persondays generated in Jammu & Kashmir under MGNREGS. There were 4068621 persondays generated in Doda under MGNREGS during 2017-18, which accounted 10.84% of the total persondays generated in Jammu & Kashmir under MGNREGS during the same period. The number of persondays generated in Kishtwar was 3720416 under MGNREGS during 2017-18, which accounted 9.92% of the total persondays generated in Jammu & Kashmir under MGNREGS.

There were 3370040 and 3177140 persondays generated in Rajauri and Kupwara respectively under MGNREGS during 2017-18. Rajauri accounted for 8.98% and Kupwara accounted for 8.47% of the total persondays generated in Jammu & Kashmir under MGNREGS during 2017-18.
