Top 10 States/UTs with respect to per day Waste Generation as on 31st Jan 2018

Total per day waste generation in India was 143572 tonnes as on 31st January 2018. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to per day waste generation as on 31.01.2018 were Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, NCT of Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

The per day waste generation in Maharashtra was 22570 tonnes as on 31.01.2018, which accounted 15.72% of the total per day waste generation in India. The per day waste generation in Tamil Nadu was 15437 tonnes as on 31st Jan 2018. It accounted 10.75% of the total per day waste generation in India as on 31.01.2018. The per day waste generation in Uttar Pradesh was 15288 tonnes as on 31.01.2018, which accounted 10.65% of the total per day waste generation in India.

The per day waste generation in NCT of Delhi and Gujarat was 10500 and 10145 tonnes respectively as on 31st Jan 2018. NCT of Delhi accounted for 7.31% and Gujarat accounted for 7.07% of the total per day waste generation in India as on 31.01.2018.

The per day waste generation in Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh was 10000, 7700, 7371, 6500 and 6424 tonnes respectively as on 31.01.2018. These aforementioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 77.96% of the total per day waste generation in India as a whole as on 31st January 2018.
