State/UT-wise Fund Utilized under Revised National TB Control Programme during 2018-19

To eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) in India by 2025, five years ahead of the global target, a framework to guide the activities of all stakeholders including the national and state governments, development partners, civil society organizations, international agencies, research institutions, private sector, and many others whose work is relevant to TB elimination in India is formulated by Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) as ‘National Strategic Plan for Tuberculosis Elimination 2017-2025’.

The total fund allocated was Rs. 1222.74 crore to all States/UTs of India under RNTCP for 2018-19. All the States/UTs utilized Rs. 1017.20 crore during 2018-19 under RNTCP. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to fund utilized under RNTCP in 2018-19 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Fund utilized by Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 196.26 crore under RNTCP during 2018-19, which accounted 19.29% of the total fund utilized in India. There was utilization of Rs. 95.44 crore by Maharashtra under RNTCP in 2018-19. It accounted 9.38% of the total fund utilized under RNTCP in India during the same period. Fund utilized by Gujarat was Rs. 72.34 crore under RNTCP during 2018-19, which accounted 7.11% of the total fund utilized in India.

Utilization of fund was Rs. 70.74 crore and Rs. 66.49 crore by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh respectively under RNTCP in 2018-19. Tamil Nadu accounted for 6.95% and Andhra Pradesh accounted for 6.54% of the total fund utilized under RNTCP in India during 2018-19.

These aforementioned top 5 states accounted for 49.28% of the total fund utilized under Revised National TB Control Programme by all the States/UTs of India as a whole during 2018-19.
