Production of Sponge Iron in Steel Industry from 2013-14 to 2018-19

We have seen compound annual growth rate of 8.7% in production of sponge iron in steel industry during 2013-14 to 2018-19. Production of sponge iron in steel industry was 22872 thousand tonnes during 2013-14. It has increased by 5.99% to 24243 thousand tonnes during 2014-15 above 2013-14. In absolute term the increase was 1371 thousand tonnes during 2014-15 above 2013-14.

Annual growth of 6.08% has been observed in production of sponge iron in steel industry during 2017-18 from 28762 thousand tonnes during 2016-17. Production of sponge iron in steel industry was 34705 thousand tonnes during 2018-19, up by 13.75% against 30511 thousand tonnes during 2017-18. In absolute term the increase was 4194 thousand tonnes during 2018-19 above 2017-18.

Maximum annual growth of 28.25% has been seen in 2016-17 in production of sponge iron in steel industry during the period under consideration. Highest annual decline of -7.49% has been found in 2015-16 in production of sponge iron in steel industry during the period under consideration.
