Cyclones hit to Tamil Nadu during 1891 to 2017

Tamil Nadu (East Coast) hit 55 times totally by cyclones with speed of 34 knots or more during 1891 to 2017; out of which 30 times was being punched with severe cyclonic storm with speed of 47 knots or more during the same period. Tamil Nadu (East Coast) was being hit by three cyclones in each year during 1930 and 1966 with speed of 34 knots or more; out of which three was severe cyclonic storm having 47 knots or more speed during 1966.

Annually two times cyclones (>=34 knots) slapped to Tamil Nadu (East Coast) in the year 1906, 1935, 1939, 1943, 1964 and 2000; out of which two cyclones in each year during 1964 and 2000, and one time in each year during 1939 and 1943 punched to Tamil Nadu (East Coast) having severe cyclonic storm speed of 47 knots or more.

Annually one time cyclones (34 knots or more) hit to Tamil Nadu (East Coast) in 1893, 1898, 1912, 1916, 1922, 1933, 1941, 1944, 1952, 1955, 1963, 1972, 1977, 1978, 1984, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 2011 and 2016 with one time severe cyclonic storm in each year with speed of 47 knots or more during the period under consideration.
