Financial Assistance Provided for Implementation of Eprisons Programme during 2017-18 & 2018-19

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has provided support to States and UTs for implementing the Eprisons programme which aims at digitizing prison records and automation of prison administration services. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of financial assistance provided for Implementation of Eprisons programme during 2017-18 were Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal. For Implementation of Eprisons programme; Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal had been provided with Rs. 0.79, 0.76, 0.69, 0.69, 0.61, 0.61, 0.61, 0.61, 0.59 and 0.53 crore respectively as financial assistance during 2017-18.

The top 10 States/UTs with respect to financial assistance provided for Implementation of Eprisons programme during 2018-19 (as on 9.2.2019) were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. During 2018-19 (as on 9.2.2019), Financial Assistance of Rs. 0.79, 0.76, 0.69, 0.69, 0.61, 0.61, 0.61, 0.61, 0.59 and 0.53 crore had been provided to Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively for Implementation of Eprisons programme.
