The Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE) were under implementation since 2000-2001, 2009-10 and 1987-88 till 2017-18 for universalizing elementary education, secondary education and for providing infrastructural and institutional support to Government Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) respectively, in the country. The schemes of SSA, RMSA and Teacher Education (TE) have been subsumed under an Integrated Centrally Sponsored Scheme for School Education – Samagra Shiksha which has been launched from 2018-19.
The total Central Share released was Rs. 2177900.98 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19 (As on 31.01.2019). We have observed an annual growth of 8.48% in total Central Share released under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha to Rs. 2349425.43 lakh during 2017-18 versus Rs. 2165744.85 lakh during 2016-17. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Central Share released under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19 were Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The Central Share released for Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 312580 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19. It accounted 14.35% of the total Central Share released under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19. The Central Share released for Rajasthan was Rs. 252292.83 lakh during 2018-19, which accounted 11.58% of the total Central Share released during 2018-19. The Central Share released for Bihar was Rs. 221950.59 lakh under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19. It accounted 10.19% of the total Central Share released during 2018-19. The Central Share released was 166585.31 lakh for Madhya Pradesh and 124607.57 lakh for Tamil Nadu under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA)/ Samagra Shiksha during 2018-19, which accounted 7.65% and 5.72% of the total Central Share released during 2018-19.
