Product-wise Export of Synthetic Fibres under Major Petrochemicals during 2016-17 & 2017-18

Synthetic Fibre products namely Acrylic Fibre, Nylon Filament Yarn, Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord, Polyester Filament Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre, Polypropylene Filament Yarn, Polypropylene Staple Fibre and Elastomeric/Spandex Filament Yarn were exported under Major Petrochemicals during 2010-11 to 2017-18.

Compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.94%, 9.62%, -12.04%, 9.06%, 5.88%, -5.16%, 46.85% and 50.05% has been observed in export of Acrylic Fibre, Nylon Filament Yarn, Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord, Polyester Filament Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre, Polypropylene Filament Yarn, Polypropylene Staple Fibre and Elastomeric/Spandex Filament Yarn respectively during 2010-11 to 2017-18. Top 3 Synthetic Fibre Products in terms of export of Petrochemicals during 2017-18 were Polypropylene Filament Yarn, Polypropylene Staple Fibre and Acrylic Fibre.

Export of Acrylic Fibre was 47911 metric tonne during 2015-16. It has increased by 0.88% to 48332 metric tonne during 2016-17 over 2015-16. We have seen annual decline of -18.87% in export of Acrylic Fibre during 2017-18 to 39213 metric tonne. Annual growth of 116.16% has been found in export of Nylon Filament Yarn to 4014 metric tonne during 2017-18 against 1857 metric tonne during 2016-17. Whereas it was 1639 metric tonne during 2015-16. We have observed annual growth of 9.91% in export of Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord to 1620 metric tonne during 2017-18 versus 1474 metric tonne during 2016-17.

During 2017-18, Export of Polyester Filament Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre, Polypropylene Filament Yarn, Polypropylene Staple Fibre and Elastomeric/Spandex Filament Yarn was 717714, 227441, 869, 9497 and 685 metric tonne respectively. Annual growth of -4.05%, 6.33%, -58.16%, -2.64% and 124.59% has been seen in Export of Polyester Filament Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre, Polypropylene Filament Yarn, Polypropylene Staple Fibre and Elastomeric/Spandex Filament Yarn respectively during 2017-18 versus 2016-17.
