Total release of Central share under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) (SBM (G)) was Rs. 16610.88 crore during 2017-18, up by 57.3% versus Rs. 10559.58 crore during 2016-17; whereas it was Rs. 6362.96 crore during 2015-16. The total amount utilised under SBM (G) was Rs. 9370.47 crore, Rs. 10025.49 crore and Rs. 12222.23 crore during 2015-16 to 2017-18 respectively. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of Central share released under SBM (G) during 2017-18 were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand.
We have observed an increase of 173.6% in release of Central share for Uttar Pradesh under SBM (G) from Rs. 1153.33 crore during 2016-17 to Rs. 3155.37 crore during 2017-18. It accounted 19% of the total Central share released under SBM (G) during 2017-18. Central share released under SBM (G) was Rs. 1380.61 crore for Madhya Pradesh during 2017-18. It has been increased by 14% from Rs. 1210.77 crore during 2016-17. It accounted 8.31% of the total Central share released under SBM (G) during 2017-18. Annual growth of 133.6% has been seen in release of Central share under SBM (G) for Maharashtra to Rs. 1235.34 crore during 2017-18 versus Rs. 528.94 crore during 2016-17. It accounted 7.44% of the total Central share released under SBM (G) during 2017-18.
The release of Central share under SBM (G) was Rs. 1219.88 crore for Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 1171.95 crore for Assam during 2017-18. Andhra Pradesh and Assam accounted for 7.34% and 7.06% respectively of the total Central share released under SBM (G) during 2017-18. Annual growth of 256.5% and 56.8% has been observed in release of Central share under SBM (G) from Rs. 342.21 crore for Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 747.58 crore for Assam respectively during 2016-17.
During 2017-18, Central share of Rs. 983.39, 981.51, 875.92, 865.94 and 698.66 crore was released under SBM (G) for Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand respectively. Whereas it was Rs. 419.56, 777.3, 131.86, 537.02 and 455.46 crore for Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand respectively in 2016-17.
