Zone-wise Passengers detected travelling without/with improper ticket & Amount of Railway dues realized during 2014-15 to 2016-17

There were 166.81 lakh Passengers detected travelling without ticket/with improper tickets in train during 2014-15. It has increased by 13.6% during 2015-16 over 2014-15. An increase of 7.45% has been seen in Passengers detected travelling without ticket/with improper tickets in train from 189.49 lakh during 2015-16 to 203.6 lakh during 2016-17.

Among the Railway zones in India; the top 3 zones in terms of maximum Passengers detected travelling without ticket/with improper tickets in train during 2016-17 were Northern, South Central and Central with 26.4 lakh, 25.86 lakh and 24.24 lakh passengers respectively, and the bottom 3 zones in terms of minimum Passengers detected travelling without ticket/with improper tickets in train during 2016-17 were South East Central, East Coast and North Western with 4.24 lakh, 5.11 lakh and 5.56 lakh passengers respectively. We have observed increase of 6.19%, 5.85% and 7.83% in Northern, South Central and Central zones respectively in Passengers detected travelling without ticket/with improper tickets during 2016-17 over 2015-16.

Amount of railway dues realized was Rs. 751.4 crore during 2014-15. It has increased by 15.3% during 2015-16 over 2014-15. An increase of 8% has been seen in Amount of railway dues realized from Rs. 866.33 crore during 2015-16 to Rs. 935.64 crore during 2016-17.

Among the Railway zones in India; the top 3 zones in terms of maximum Amount of Railway dues realized during 2016-17 were Central, Northern and South Central with Rs. 125.13 crore, Rs. 116.52 crore and Rs. 111.5 crore respectively, and the bottom 3 zones in terms of minimum Amount of Railway dues realized during 2016-17 were South East Central, East Coast and North Western with Rs. 17.55 crore, Rs. 22.11 crore and Rs. 23.1 crore respectively. We have observed increase of 6.12%, 4.39% and 10.05% in Central, Northern and South Central zones respectively in Amount of Railway dues realized during 2016-17 over 2015-16.
