Village Electrification in India as on 30th April, 2014

As per the 2001 Census, there are Total 5,97,464 inhabited villages in India. Out of which, 5,71,168 villages have been electrified as on 30th April, 2014. All Union Territories have 100 per cent villages electrified, excluding Andaman and Nicobar Islands (77.8% electrified). A few major states such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Punjab and Tamil Nadu have 100 per cent villages electrified.

Ten States Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Rajasthan and A & N Island are below the National average (95.6%) in April, 2014.
