The Total Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 3627.8 crores during the year 1981-82. The Total Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 14113.7 crores during the year 1991-92. It increased by 10485.9 crores as compared to the year 1981-82. In percentage terms, the growth was 289.04% during the period.

The Total Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 39357.8 crores during the year 2001-02. It increased by 25244.1 crores as compared to the year 1991-92. In percentage terms, the growth was 178.86% during the period. The Total Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 106245.3 crores during the year 2011-12. It increased by 66887.5 crores as compared to the year 2001-02. In percentage terms, the growth was 169.95% during the period.

The Total Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 143215.2 crores during the year 2013-14. It increased by 36969.9 crores as compared to the year 2011-12. In percentage terms, the growth was 34.8% during the period.
