Top 10 States/UTs in Applications Received under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme during 2015-16

The number of applications received under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in India as a whole was 316797 in 2015-16. It had shown a decrease of -42000 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of the number of applications received under PMEGP were: Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2015-16.

The number of applications received under PMEGP in Uttar Pradesh was 37950 in 2015-16. It accounted for 11.98% of the number of applications received under PMEGP in India in 2015-16. It had shown a decrease of -5412 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of applications received under PMEGP in Assam was 37162 in 2015-16. It accounted for 11.73% of the number of applications received under PMEGP in India in 2015-16. It had shown a decrease of -12193 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of applications received under PMEGP in West Bengal was 30343 in 2015-16. It accounted for 9.58% of the number of applications received under PMEGP in India in 2015-16. It had shown an increase of 3617 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of applications received under PMEGP in Odisha was 25577 in 2015-16. It accounted for 8.07% of the number of applications received under PMEGP in India in 2015-16. It had shown an increase of 1229 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of applications received under PMEGP in Karnataka was 23341 in 2015-16. It accounted for 7.37% of the number of applications received under PMEGP in India in 2015-16. It had shown an increase of 1396 in the number of applications received under PMEGP as compared to the year 2014-15.

These top 5 states accounted for 48.73% of the total number of applications received under PMEGP in India as a whole in 2015-16.

The number of applications received under PMEGP in Manipur was 22282 in 2015-16 (7.03% of All India). The number of applications received under PMEGP in Tamil Nadu was 11671 in 2015-16 (3.68% of All India). The number of applications received under PMEGP in Bihar was 11650 in 2015-16 (3.68% of All India). The number of applications received under PMEGP in Andhra Pradesh was 11459 in 2015-16 (3.62% of All India). The number of applications received under PMEGP in Telangana was 10665 in 2015-16 (3.37% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 70.11% of the total number of applications received under PMEGP in India as a whole in 2015-16.
