Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Expenditure on Health Melas under National Health Mission during 2018-19

During 2018-19, there was a total expenditure of Rs. 1,139.76 lakhs in India on targeting naturally occurring gathering of people / health melas under National Health Mission (NHM). The top 10 States/UTs with respect to expenditure on targeting naturally occurring gathering of people / health melas under NHM during 2018-19 were Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Meghalaya.

The expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in Maharashtra was Rs. 259.51 lakhs during 2018-19, which accounted 22.77% of the total expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in India. There was expenditure of Rs. 229.16 lakhs in Himachal Pradesh on health melas under NHM during 2018-19. It accounted 20.11% of the total expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in India during the same period. The expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in Gujarat was Rs. 199.36 lakhs during 2018-19, which accounted 17.49% of the total expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in India.

There was expenditure of Rs. 163.97 lakhs and Rs. 75.46 lakhs on health melas under NHM in Assam and Bihar respectively during 2018-19. Assam accounted for 14.39% and Bihar accounted for 6.62% of the total expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in India during 2018-19.

The expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Meghalaya was Rs. 48.3, 38.65, 29.97, 26.2 and 13.2 lakhs respectively during 2018-19. These aforementioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 95.09% of the total expenditure incurred on health melas under NHM in India as a whole during 2018-19.
