Total central fund of Rs. 3,080,024.41 lakh was released under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in India during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019). The top 10 States/UTs with respect to central fund released under MGNREGA during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019) were West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar and Chhattisgarh.
The amount of central fund released was Rs. 394,896.97 lakh for West Bengal under MGNREGA during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019), which accounted 12.82% of the total central fund released under MGNREGA in India. There was release of Rs. 388,883.91 lakh for Andhra Pradesh under MGNREGA during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019). It accounted 12.63% of the total central fund released under MGNREGA in India during the same period. The central fund released for Rajasthan was Rs. 342,299.43 lakh under MGNREGA during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019), which accounted 11.11% of the total central fund released under MGNREGA in India.
There was release of Rs. 231,733.11 and 196,212.96 lakh for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka respectively under MGNREGA during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019). Tamil Nadu accounted for 7.52% and Karnataka accounted for 6.37% of the total central fund released under MGNREGA in India during 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019).
During 2019-20 (as on 09th July 2019), the amount of central fund released for Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar and Chhattisgarh was Rs. 195,539.72, 178,915.54, 177,203.49, 147,315.5 and 136,990.33 lakh respectively under MGNREGA.
