Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Budget Allocation under Ayushman Bharat - Health & Wellness Centers during 2019-20

Ayushman Bharat Yojana comprises two components namely (i) Provision of Comprehensive Primary Healthcare through Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWC), and (ii) Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). During 2019-20, there was budget allocation of Rs. 1,591.15 crore in India under AB-HWC. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to budget allocation under AB- HWC during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Karnataka.

The budget allocated for Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 245.17 crore under AB-HWC during 2019-20, which accounted 15.41% of the total funds allocated under AB-HWC in India. There was allocation of Rs. 122.01 crore for Maharashtra under AB-HWC during 2019-20. It accounted 7.67% of the total budget allocated under AB-HWC in India during the same period. The allocation of funds for Rajasthan was Rs. 115.56 crore under AB-HWC during 2019-20, which accounted 7.26% of the total funds allocated under AB-HWC in India.

There was allocation of Rs. 112.65 crore and Rs. 110.13 crore for Madhya Pradesh and Bihar respectively under AB-HWC during 2019-20. Madhya Pradesh accounted for 7.08% and Bihar accounted for 6.92% of the total funds allocated under AB-HWC in India during 2019-20.

During 2019-20, the allocation of budget for Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Karnataka was Rs. 99.28, 79.55, 69.31, 67.86 and 65.2 crore respectively under AB-HWC.
