Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana during 2019-20

There were 8,356,271 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in India during 2019-20. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to beneficiaries of PMUY during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

The number of beneficiaries of PMUY was 6,476,981 from Uttar Pradesh in 2018-19. It has declined by -72.2% to 1,800,869 during 2019-20 above 2018-19. We have seen annul de-growth of -73.3% in beneficiaries of PMUY from West Bengal to 802,399 during 2019-20 from 3,005,534 during 2018-19. The number of beneficiaries of PMUY from Madhya Pradesh was 729,564 during 2019-20, down by -76.7% against 3,130,613 during 2018-19. Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh accounted for 21.55%, 9.6% and 8.73% respectively of the total beneficiaries of PMUY in India during 2019-20.

There were 686,317 and 656,107 beneficiaries of PMUY from Rajasthan and Assam respectively during 2019-20. Rajasthan accounted for 8.21% and Assam accounted for 7.85% of the total beneficiaries of PMUY in India during 2019-20.

During 2019-20, the number of beneficiaries of PMUY was 655,896, 520,263, 383,415, 368,164 and 359,008 from Bihar, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Jharkhand respectively.
