Top 10 States/UTs with respect to Ayush Doctors at Community Health Centres in Rural Areas As on 31st March 2019

As on 31st March 2019, there were 3,197 (86.08%) ayush doctors in position at community health centres (CHCs) in rural areas in India; out of 3,714 sanctioned strength. The top 10 States/UTs with respect to ayush doctors in position at CHCs in rural areas as on 31st March 2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

The number of ayush doctors in position was 597 at CHCs in rural areas in Uttar Pradesh as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 18.67% of the total ayush doctors at CHCs in rural areas in India. There were 527 ayush doctors in position at CHCs in rural areas in Jharkhand as on 31st March 2019. It accounted 16.48% of the total ayush doctors at CHCs in rural areas in India as on the same period. The number of ayush doctors in position was 292 at CHCs in rural areas in Tamil Nadu as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 9.13% of the total ayush doctors at CHCs in rural areas in India.

There were 271 and 230 ayush doctors in position at CHCs in rural areas in Odisha and Rajasthan respectively as on 31st March 2019. Odisha accounted for 8.48% and Rajasthan accounted for 7.19% of the total ayush doctors at CHCs in rural areas in India as on 31/03/2019.

As on 31st March 2019, the number of ayush doctors in position was 186, 165, 150, 120 and 114 at CHCs in rural areas in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh respectively. These aforementioned top 10 States/UTs accounted for 82.95% of the total ayush doctors at CHCs in rural areas in India as a whole as on 31.03.2019.
