Top 10 States/UTs in terms of Houses Constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) including Subsumed Projects of Rajiv Awas Yojana during 2017-18

There were 203094 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY (U)] including subsumed projects of Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) during 2017-18 in India, for which central assistance released was Rs. 4950.21 crore.

Annual growth of 203.2% has been observed during 2017-18 above 2016-17 from 66985 houses in terms of number of houses constructed. We have observed annual growth of 7.7% in terms of central assistance released for constructed houses during 2017-18 above 2016-17 from Rs. 4597.91 crore.

The top 10 States/UTs in terms of houses constructed under PMAY (U) including subsumed projects of RAY during 2017-18 were Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tripura and Rajasthan. The number of houses constructed under PMAY (U) including subsumed projects of RAY was 26517 in Gujarat during 2017-18, where as it was 22900 during 2016-17. It accounted 13.06% of the total houses constructed in India during 2017-18. The central assistance released to Gujarat for constructed houses was Rs. 480.58 crore and Rs. 608.77 crore during 2017-18 & 2016-17 respectively.

There were 25441 and 5396 houses constructed under PMAY (U) including subsumed projects of RAY in Tamil Nadu during 2017-18 & 2016-17 respectively. It accounted 12.53% of the total houses constructed in India during 2017-18. The central assistance released to Tamil Nadu for constructed houses was Rs. 903.91 crore during 2017-18 and Rs. 634.6 crore during 2016-17. The number of houses constructed under PMAY (U) including subsumed projects of RAY was 24636 in Jharkhand during 2017-18, where as it was 2352 during 2016-17. It accounted 12.13% of the total houses constructed in India during 2017-18. The central assistance released to Jharkhand for constructed houses was Rs. 150.83 crore and Rs. 193.55 crore during 2017-18 & 2016-17 respectively.

There were 24478, 20578, 20270, 19039, 15712, 7275 and 5626 houses constructed under PMAY (U) including subsumed projects of RAY in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tripura and Rajasthan respectively during 2017-18.
