Financial assistance is provided to women under Mahila Samridhi Yojana (MSY) by National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment for Scheduled Caste (SC) target group. Total financial assistance of Rs. 8780.35 lakhs and Rs. 9897.25 lakhs was provided to SC women by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17 and 2015-16 respectively. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of financial assistance provided to SC women by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17 were West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Bihar, Punjab, Telangana, Raiasthan, Karnataka, Manipur and Kerala.
Financial assistance of Rs. 3500 lakhs was provided to 35000 SC women in West Bengal by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17, which accounted 39.86% of the total financial assistance provided under the same. It has increased by 34.62% during 2016-17 from Rs. 2600 lakhs during 2015-16. Financial assistance of Rs. 2295 lakhs was provided to SC women in Tamil Nadu by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17 with benefitting 5100 SC women. It accounted 26.14% of the total financial assistance provided during 2016-17 under the same. Whereas financial assistance provided for Tamil Nadu was Rs. 0 lakhs during 2015-16 under the same. Financial assistance of Rs. 1001.16 lakhs was provided to 3660 SC women in Gujarat by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17, which accounted 11.4% of the total financial assistance provided under the same. Annual growth of 344.96% has been seen in financial assistance provided to SC women in Gujarat by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17 from Rs. 225 lakhs during 2015-16.
During 2016-17, the amount of financial assistance provided by NSFDC under MSY to SC women of Bihar and Punjab was Rs. 495 lakhs and Rs. 458.53 lakhs respectively. Whereas financial assistance provided by NSFDC under MSY to SC women was Rs. 450 lakhs for Bihar and Rs. 0 lakhs for Punjab during 2015-16. The number of SC women benefitted by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17 was 1100 and 1036 in Bihar and Punjab respectively.
Financial assistance of Rs. 450, 152.8, 101.7, 100 and 79.16 lakhs was provided to SC women in Telangana, Raiasthan, Karnataka, Manipur and Kerala respectively by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17. The number of beneficiaries was 1000, 382, 678, 345 and 198 in Telangana, Raiasthan, Karnataka, Manipur and Kerala respectively by NSFDC under MSY during 2016-17. The amount of financial assistance provided by NSFDC under MSY to SC women of Telangana, Raiasthan, Karnataka, Manipur and Kerala was Rs. 540, 152.8, 900, 100 and 959.6 lakhs respectively during 2015-16.
