Financial assistance is provided to women under Mahila Samridhi Yojana (MSY) by National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment for OBCs. Total financial assistance of Rs. 12220.53 lakhs was provided to OBC women by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18, down by -21.7% versus Rs. 15607.43 lakhs during 2016-17. We have observed annual growth of 26.32% in total financial assistance provided to OBC women by NBCFDC under MSY during 2016-17 from Rs. 12355.05 lakhs during 2015-16. Total number of beneficiaries under the same was 106515, 102048 and 72784 during 2015-16 to 2017-18 respectively. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of financial assistance provided to OBC women by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18 were TamilNadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Tripura, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana.
Financial assistance of Rs. 5209 lakhs was provided to OBC women in Tamil Nadu by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18 with benefitting 35803 women. It accounted 42.62% of the total financial assistance provided during 2017-18 under the same. Annual decline of -41.08% has been seen in financial assistance provided to OBC women in Tamil Nadu by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18 from Rs. 8841 lakhs during 2016-17. Financial assistance of Rs. 3800 lakhs was provided to 26150 OBC women in Kerala by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18, which accounted 31.1% of the total financial assistance provided under the same. We have observed annual growth of 43.5% in financial assistance provided to OBC women in Kerala by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18 from Rs. 2648 lakhs during 2016-17. Financial assistance of Rs. 1612 lakhs was provided to OBC women in Karnataka by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18, down by -3.34% versus Rs. 1667.75 lakhs during 2016-17. It accounted 13.19% of the total financial assistance provided during 2017-18 under the same. The number of beneficiaries in Karnataka was 4964 and 11448 during 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively under the same.
Financial assistance of Rs. 496.88, 388, 245, 200, 100, 52 and 30 lakhs was provided to OBC women of Tripura, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana respectively by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18. Whereas the amount of financial assistance provided by NBCFDC under MSY to OBC women of Tripura, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana was Rs. 161, 79, 500, 660, 75, 2.5 and 50 lakhs respectively during 2016-17. The number of OBC women beneficiaries was 1420, 810, 500, 2200, 500, 143 and 110 in Tripura, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Haryana respectively by NBCFDC under MSY during 2017-18.
