Top 10 States/UTs in terms of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) as on January 2019

The total number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) (as per last Panchayat elections held in the States/UTs) was 1367639 regarding women working in Panchayati Raj Institutions as on January 2019. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) (as per last Panchayat elections held in the States/UTs) as on January 2019 were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Telangana and Karnataka.

The number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) in Uttar Pradesh was 272733 as on January 2019, which accounted 19.94% of the total number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) as on same period. There were 196490 Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) in Madhya Pradesh regarding Women working in Panchayati Raj Institutions as on January 2019. It accounted 14.37% of the total number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) as on January 2019. The number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) (as per last Panchayat elections held in the States/UTs) was 121490 in Maharashtra as on January 2019, which accounted 8.88% of the total number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) as on same period.

The number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) was 93287 in Chhattisgarh and 78025 in Andhra Pradesh regarding Women working in Panchayati Raj Institutions as on January 2019. Chhattisgarh accounted 6.82% and Andhra Pradesh accounted 5.71% of the total number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) as on January 2019.

The number of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Telangana and Karnataka was 71988, 70527, 57887, 52096 and 50892 regarding Women working in Panchayati Raj Institutions as on January 2019.
