Top 10 Ports with highest Import of Chemical Fertilizers (MOP) in December 2014

Muriate of potash (MOP) is most commonly called potash or potassium chloride (KCL) and can be applied as a straight fertilizer or as part of a blended or compound fertilizer with nitrogen and phosphorous. During the month of December 2014, India imported total 3.35 lakh metric tonnes quantity of chemical fertilizers (MOP).

Top 10 ports of India in terms of highest quantity of import of chemical fertilizers (MOP) were: Vizag with import of 0.78 lakh metric tonne (23.28% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014 equivalent to 3.35 lakh metric tonne); Kandla with import of 0.51 lakh metric tonne (15.22% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Tuticorin with import of 0.36 lakh metric tonne (10.75% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); MBPT with import of 0.32 lakh metric tonne (9.55% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Gangavaram with import of 0.3 lakh metric tonne (8.96% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Mundra with import of 0.27 lakh metric tonne (8.06% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Chennai with import of 0.24 lakh metric tonne (7.16% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Goa with import of 0.21 lakh metric tonne (6.27% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014); Kakinada with import of 0.21 lakh metric tonne (6.27% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014) and Karaikal with import of 0.15 lakh metric tonne (4.48% of the total import of MOP in India in December 2014).
