State/UT-wise Un-natural accidental deaths during 2014

There were two types of accidental deaths i.e. Natural accidental death and Un-natural accidental death. Un-natural accidental death includes Air Crash, Ship Accidents, Collapse of Structure, Collapse of Dwelling House/Residential building, Collapse of Official/Commercial Building, Collapse of Dam, Collapse of  Bridge, Drowning, Boat Capsize, Accidental Falls into Water body, Other Cases, Electrocution, Accidental Explosion, Domestic Gas Cylinder, Industrial Boiler/Gas cylinder explosion, Ammunition explosion in Armed Forces/Police/CPMF, Falls, Fall from height, Fall from vehicles (Automobiles like Bus; Truck; etc.), Fall into Manhole, Fall into pit, Fall into Bore well, Factory/Machine accidents, Accidental Fire, Electrical Short circuit, Riot/Agitation, Fireworks, Cooking Gas cylinder/stove burst, Firearm, Mines or Quarry disaster, Traffic Accidents, Road Accidents, Railway Crossing Accidents, Railway Accidents, Stampede, etc.

A total of 316828 Un-natural accidental deaths were reported in India during 2014. Out of 316828 Un-natural accidental deaths, 251791 (79.47%) Un-natural accidental deaths were male, 64977 (20.51%) Un-natural accidental deaths were female and 60 (0.02%) Un-natural accidental deaths were transgender.

There were 9 States/UTs, which each State / UT had contributed less than 0.01% Un-natural accidental deaths out of All India total (316828). Those 9 States / UTs were Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh which had Un-natural accidental deaths of 3 (0.001%), 51 (0.02%), 109 (0.03%), 111 (0.04%), 160 (0.05%), 181 (0.06%), 188 (0.06%), 238 (0.08%) and 288 (0.09%), respectively.

There were 16 States/UTs, where each State / UT had contributed between 0.01% to 4% out of All India total (316828). Those 16 States / UTs were Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Goa, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, Kerala, Odisha and Haryana which had Un-natural accidental deaths of 307 (0.10%), 308 (0.10%), 528 (0.17%), 734 (0.23%), 841 (0.27%), 908 (0.29%), 1352 (0.43%), 2776 (0.88%), 4674 (1.48%), 4722 (1.49%), 5976 (1.89%), 8063 (2.54%), 8804 (2.78%), 8992 (2.84%), 9870 (3.12%) and 11048 (3.49%), respectively.

There were 7 States / UTs, which each State / UT had contributed between 4% to 8% Un-natural accidental deaths out of All India total (316828). Those 7 States / UTs were Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat which had Un-natural accidental deaths of 13384 (4.22%), 13579 (4.29%), 14306 (4.52%), 15132 (4.78%), 22194 (7.01%), 22539 (7.11%) and 22733 (7.18%), respectively.

There were 4 States, which each State had contributed greater than 8% Un-natural accidental deaths out of All India total (316828). Those 4 States were Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra which had Un-natural accidental deaths of 25899 (8.17%), 28182 (8.9%), 31092 (9.81%) and 36566 (11.54%), respectively.
