Number of road accidental deaths reported in Tamil Nadu was 15642 during 2015, which accounted 10.52% of total road accidental deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 15642 road accidental deaths; 13223 (84.54%) were male, 2419 (15.46%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender.
Road accidental deaths reported in Maharashtra was 13685 during 2015, which accounted 9.2% of total road accidental deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 13685 road accidental deaths; 11846 (86.56%) were male, 1838 (13.43%) were female and 1 (0.01%) were transgender. Road accidental deaths reported in Karnataka was 10857 during 2015, which accounted 7.3% of total road accidental deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 10857 road accidental deaths; 9287 (85.54%) were male, 1569 (14.45%) were female and 1 (0.01%) were transgender. Road accidental deaths reported in Rajasthan was 10510 during 2015, which accounted 7.07% of total road accidental deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 10510 road accidental deaths; 9161 (87.16%) were male, 1349 (12.84%) were female and 0 (0%) were transgender.
The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 46.47% of the total road accidental deaths reported in India as a whole during 2015.
Lakshadweep is the only Union Territory which had 0 (Zero) road accidental deaths reported during 2015. There were other 8 States/UTs, which each State/UT had contributed greater than 0% but less than 0.01% road accidental deaths during 2015 out of All India total (148707). These 8 States/UTs were: Manipur, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and A & N Island. There were remaining 22 States/UTs, which each State/UT had contributed greater than 0.01% but less than 7% road accidental deaths during 2015 out of All India total (148707). These 22 States/UTs were: Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Odisha, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Goa, Puducherry, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.
