State/UT-wise Accidental Fire Deaths in India during 2015

17700 Un-Natural deaths reported in India due to Accidental Fire during 2015. Out of these 17700 accidental fire deaths; the number of males, females and transgenders were 6775 (38.28%), 10925 (61.72%) and 0 (0%) respectively. The accidental fire deaths had a weightage of 5.3% out of the total number of Un-Natural deaths (336051) during 2015. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of number of accidental fire deaths during 2015 were: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

Accidental fire deaths reported in Maharashtra was 3377 during 2015, which accounted 19.08% of total accidental fire deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 3377 accidental fire deaths; 1023 (30.29%) were male and 2354 (69.71%) were female. Accidental fire deaths reported in Madhya Pradesh was 2125 during 2015, which accounted 12.01% of total accidental fire deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 2125 accidental fire deaths; 702 (33.04%) were male and 1423 (66.96%) were female. Accidental fire deaths reported in Gujarat was 2010 during 2015, which accounted 11.36% of total accidental fire deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 2010 accidental fire deaths; 662 (32.94%) were male and 1348 (67.06%) were female.

Accidental fire deaths reported in Uttar Pradesh was 1522 during 2015, which accounted 8.6% of total accidental fire deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 1522 accidental fire deaths; 658 (43.23%) were male and 864 (56.77%) were female. Accidental fire deaths reported in Karnataka was 1244 during 2015, which accounted 7.03% of total accidental fire deaths reported in India during the year. Out of these 1244 accidental fire deaths; 463 (37.22%) were male and 781 (62.78%) were female.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 58.07% of the total accidental fire deaths reported in India as a whole during 2015.

Nagaland is the only state which had reported 0 (Zero) accidental fire deaths during 2015. The 4 States/UTs namely Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Manipur, Sikkim and Lakshadweep, having only 1 accidental fire deaths reported each during 2015.
