State/UT-wise Wheat Procurement at Minimum Support Price for Central Pool in Rabi Market Season from 2014-15 to 2017-18

Government of India implements Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the procurement of pulses. Quantity of wheat procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Central Pool was 280.23 lakh metric tonne (LMT) during (RMS) 2014-15. It has increased by 0.23% during (RMS) 2015-16 over (RMS) 2014-15. We have seen decline of -18.25% in Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool during (RMS) 2016-17 over (RMS) 2015-16 from 280.88 LMT. Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool was 308.24 LMT during (RMS) 2017-18, up by 34.25% from 229.61 LMT during (RMS) 2016-17.

The top 3 States/UTs in terms of Procurement of Wheat at MSP for Central Pool during (RMS) 2017-18 were Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Punjab was 117.06 LMT during (RMS) 2017-18, up by 9.93% from 106.49 LMT during (RMS) 2016-17. We have seen growth of 2.95% in Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Punjab during (RMS) 2016-17 over (RMS) 2015-16 from 103.44 LMT.

We have observed growth of 10.07% in Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Haryana to 74.32 LMT during (RMS) 2017-18 versus 67.52 LMT during (RMS) 2016-17. We have seen de-growth of -0.38% in Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Haryana during (RMS) 2016-17 over (RMS) 2015-16 from 67.78 LMT. Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Madhya Pradesh was 67.25 LMT during (RMS) 2017-18, up by 68.46% from 39.92 LMT during (RMS) 2016-17. We have seen decline of -45.38% in Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Madhya Pradesh during (RMS) 2016-17 over (RMS) 2015-16 from 73.09 LMT.

Quantity of wheat procured at MSP for Central Pool in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Delhi was 36.99 LMT, 12.45 LMT, 0.08 LMT, 0.07 LMT, 0.02 LMT and 0 LMT respectively during (RMS) 2017-18.
