State/UT-wise Pregnant Women Registered for ANC in India during 2019-20

The top 5 States/UTs with respect to pregnant women registered for Antenatal Care (ANC) in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The number of pregnant women registered for ANC in Uttar Pradesh was 6,745,784 during 2019-20, out of which 733,017 (10.87%) registrations were from urban areas and 6,012,767 (89.13%) registrations were from rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. There were 3,394,623 registrations of pregnant women for ANC in Bihar during 2019-20. Out of these 3,394,623 registrations of pregnant women; 383,794 (11.31%) registrations were in urban areas and 3,010,829 (88.69%) registrations were in rural areas of Bihar during 2019-20. The number of pregnant women registered for ANC in Maharashtra was 2,051,346 during 2019-20, out of which 729,672 (35.57%) registrations were from urban areas and 1,321,674 (64.43%) registrations were from rural areas of Maharashtra.

During 2019-20, there were 1,919,655 and 1,736,201 registrations of pregnant women for ANC in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively. Out of these 1,919,655 registrations in Madhya Pradesh, 321,222 (16.73%) and 1,598,433 (83.27%) registrations were from urban and rural areas respectively; and out of these 1,736,201 registrations in Rajasthan, 419,393 (24.16%) and 1,316,808 (75.14%) registrations were from urban and rural areas respectively during 2019-20.
