State/UT-wise Percentage of Schools with Electricity in India during 2015-16

India has witnessed a gradual growth in percentage of Schools with Electricity during 2013-14 to 2015-16. Percentage of Schools with Electricity in India was 56.78%, 60.01% and 62.81% during 2013-14 to 2015-16 respectively.

We have observed that, during 2015-16 there were 6 States/UTs namely Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry, which had 100% of Schools with Electricity. The bottom 5 States/UTs in terms of lowest % of Schools with Electricity during 2015-16 were; Jharkhand with 19.45%, Assam with 25.55%, Meghalaya with 28.54%, Madhya Pradesh with 28.8% and Tripura with 29.77%.

The remaining 25 States/UTs were there which fell in between greater than 30% but less than 100% bracket of Schools with Electricity during 2015-16. These 25 States/UTs namely Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Bihar, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Mizoram, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Goa and Punjab had 30.97%, 33.03%, 37.78%, 39.27%, 39.54%, 51.7%, 54.26%, 56.68%, 72.66%, 74.88%, 76.86%, 78.64%, 83.97%, 90.1%, 91.58%, 93.5%, 93.94%, 96.24%, 97.46%, 98.12%, 98.97%, 99.05%, 99.73%, 99.87% and 99.94% respectively Schools with Electricity during 2015-16.
