State/UT-wise Operative Accounts under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 20.01.2021

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was launched on 28th August 2014 under the National Mission for Financial Inclusion. Under PMJDY, account holders are provided banking services free of charge and without any requirement of maintaining the minimum balance.

Out of the 41,70,06,734 crore accounts opened under PMJDY, 35,91,86,493 crore accounts were operative as on 21.01.2021.

The top 10 states in respect to operative accounts under PMJDY as on 20.01.2021 were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Assam, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat.
