The top 5 States/UTs with respect to newborns having weight less than 2.5 kg in India during 2019-20 were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The number of newborns having weight less than 2.5 kg was 435122, 254284, 213241, 211528 and 203453 in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar respectively during 2019-20.
