State/UT-wise Installed Capacity of Solar Power Generation As on 31st May, 2019

As on 31st May 2019, total installed capacity of solar power generation was 29409.25 Mega watt (MW) in India. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to installed capacity of solar power generation as on 31-05-2019 were Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The installed capacity of solar power generation in Karnataka was 6134.91 MW as on 31st May 2019, which accounted 20.86% of the total installed capacity of solar power generation in India. There was 3598.8 MW of installed capacity of solar power generation in Telangana as on 31-05-2019. It accounted 12.24% of the total installed capacity of solar power generation in India as on the same period. The installed capacity of solar power generation in Rajasthan was 3551 MW as on 31st May 2019, which accounted 12.07% of the total installed capacity of solar power generation in India.

There was 3290.76 MW and 2812.05 MW of installed capacity of solar power generation in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu respectively as on 31-05-2019. Andhra Pradesh accounted for 11.19% and Tamil Nadu accounted for 9.56% of the total installed capacity of solar power generation in India as on 31st May 2019.

The aforementioned top 5 states accounted for 65.92% of the total installed capacity of solar power generation in India as a whole as on 31st May 2019.
