State/UT-wise Dengue Cases reported in India during 2015 to 2017

We have observed an annual increase of 22% in dengue cases reported in India during 2017 (till 24th December) in comparison to 29% during 2016. The number of dengue cases reported in India was 99913 during 2015, 129166 during 2016 and 157220 during 2017 (till 24th December). The top 5 States/UTs in terms of dengue cases reported during 2017 (till 24th December) were Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab and West Bengal.

Annual growth of 810% has been observed in number of dengue cases reported in Tamil Nadu to 23035 during 2017 versus 2531 during 2016. Tamil Nadu accounted for 14.65% of the total dengue cases reported in India during 2017. There were 19912 reported dengue cases in Kerala during 2017. It has increased by 168% during 2017 from 7439 during 2016. It accounted 12.67% of the total dengue cases reported in India during 2017. We have seen annual growth of 180% in number of dengue cases reported in Karnataka from 6083 during 2016 to 17018 during 2017. It accounted 10.82% of the total dengue cases reported in India during 2017.

The number of dengue cases reported was 15318 in Punjab and 10697 in West Bengal during 2017. Punjab and West Bengal accounted for 9.74% and 6.8% respectively of the total dengue cases reported in India during 2017. Annual growth of 47% and -53% has been found in number of dengue cases reported in Punjab and West Bengal respectively during 2017 in comparison to 2016.
