Specialists at Community Health Centres in March 2015

The number of Specialist Medical Officers at various Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India was 4078 in March 2015. There were 13 states having more than 100 Specialists at CHCs viz. Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, Telangana and West Bengal in March 2015.

The number of Specialists at CHCs in Maharashtra was 578 in March 2015. It accounted for 14.17% of the total number of Specialists at CHCs in India in March 2015. The number of Specialists at CHCs in Rajasthan was 526 in March 2015. It accounted for 12.9% of the total number of Specialists at CHCs in India in March 2015. The number of Specialists at CHCs in Karnataka was 502 in March 2015. It accounted for 12.31% of the total number of Specialists at CHCs in India in March 2015.

The number of Specialists at CHCs in Uttar Pradesh was 484 in March 2015. It accounted for 11.87% of the total number of Specialists at CHCs in India in March 2015. The number of Specialists at CHCs in Odisha was 356 in March 2015. It accounted for 8.73% of the total number of Specialists at CHCs in India in March 2015.

The number of Specialists at CHCs in Madhya Pradesh was 263 in March 2015 (6.45% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in Punjab was 173 in March 2015 (4.24% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in Jammu and Kashmir was 167 in March 2015 (4.1% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in Andhra Pradesh was 159 in March 2015 (3.9% share of All India).

The number of Specialists at CHCs in Jharkhand was 128 in March 2015 (3.14% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in Assam was 121 in March 2015 (2.97% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in Telangana was 116 in March 2015 (2.84% share of All India). The number of Specialists at CHCs in West Bengal was 114 in March 2015 (2.8% share of All India).
