Ministry of Human Resource Development had initiated an All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) in 2011 to prepare a sound database on Higher Education in the country. The survey covers all the institutions in the country engaged in imparting the higher education. It is getting updated from the annual data submitted by the institutions.
The number of Scheduled Caste (SC) female students availing scholarship for higher education in All India in 2012-2013 was 619166. The Top 5 State/UTs with the maximum number of SC male students getting scholarship in 2012-2013 were: Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The number of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu in 2012-2013 was 140375. Thus, the percentage of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu was 22.67% of total SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
The number of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 83298. Thus, the percentage of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh was 13.45% of total SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
The number of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra in 2012-2013 was 77124. Thus, the percentage of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra was 12.46% of total SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
The number of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Karnataka in 2012-2013 was 54923. Thus, the percentage of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Karnataka was 8.87% of total SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
The number of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 38630. Thus, the percentage of SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh was 6.24% of total SC female students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
